If you eat, you better get GIPSA. It’s about creating jobs for future farmers and guaranteeing fair contracts for today’s family farmers. There’s no more important rule that will be approved by Congress to protect independent family farmers for future generations. In the past year, the USDA has written a set of proposed fair market contract rules under Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) that would make it illegal for packers and slaughter houses to unfairly discriminate against America’s farmers. Unfortunately, these rules have not yet been finalized. And right now giant agribusiness meat cartels are pressuring Secretary Vilsack and the Senate to weaken these vital rules that would provide fair market contract protections for family farmers.

Please make a call to the U.S. Senate today to tell Senators to stand up for family farmers and make Big Meat play by fair contract rules. Calls are best and if you can’t reach the listed Senators, please call your own by dialing the Senate switchboard: (202) 224-3121
